Adjusting Detecto r Sen sitivity (Ran ge) The 5853 has four sensit ivity settin gs, which are set using the SENS1 a nd SENS2 DIP switche s. The settings are: 1) max imum; 2) medium; 3) l ow; and 4) lowest. By default, se nsitiv ity is se t to MAXIMU M. To change the detect or ’ s se nsi tivit y, use a small screwdriv er to adj ust the SEN S1 and SENS2 sw itches, as shown in the ta ble below: SENSIT IVITY A PPROX. The FlexCore TM signal processor utilizes an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) - processing sound data in parallel rather than sequentially. This permits sound frequency, duration and amplitude to be analyzed 50% faster to minimize false alarms while maintaining the highest possible level of detection. The LEDs indicate test mode, alarms and trouble conditions. It is compatible with all 5800 series wireless devices. Product availability, at the moment, is in flux. Secure the 5853 to the wall or ceiling, oriented so the micr ophone has the best l ine- of-sight to th e protect ed gla ss. 5. Reinstall the batt eries if pre viousl y removed. 6. Close and secure the detector front cover. 7. Testing t he Detect or The detector should be teste d at least once each ye ar. Test the dete ctor w ith the F lexGuard FG-701 Glassbr eak Simulator. O ther simul ators will not g ive ac curate indication of range. T he sim ulator buz zes a short activatio n code. When the dete ctor enter s Test Mode, th e green LED on the det ector flash es abo ut once per se cond. If the green LED do es not f lash, mo ve closer t o the det ector and repeat the procedur e. To enter Test Mode manuall y: 1. Open the front cover. 2. Use a scr ewdriver to short the Test Mod e pads on the PC board (se e dia gram on next page). 3. Close the front cover. The detector ’ s green LED bl inks appro ximate ly on ce per second to i ndicate that it has entered the test mode. Testing the Det ector (flex an d audio sign als): To test the 58 53, do th e follow ing: 1. Place the dete ctor in Test M ode. 2. Set the FG-701 switche s to th e TEST and FLEX position s. 3. Position the FG -701 n ear the f arthest point of the protected glass, and po int the s peaker directly at t he dete ctor. If win dow co verings are present, c lose them fully and hold t he FG-701 between the co vering s and the protected glass. 4. Press the red START button. The simulator clicks on and st arts an eigh t-secon d armed period. 5. Generate a fl ex sig nal by car ef ully str iking the glass wit h a cu shioned too l. The FG -701 responds with a burst of glass break aud io. If the detector receiv es both th e flex an d audio signals properly, its red Alarm LED lig hts for 5 seconds. Enrollin g Det ector In to 580 0-Series Receiv er Before the control p anel wil l recogniz e the 585 3, you must program the devic e's seri al number int o the control p anel. To tran smit th e number autom atically, mom entarily a ctivate the front tamper swi tch. To ente r the s erial num ber manual ly, refer to the co ntrol pan el ’ s inst ructions to enrol l the serial ID n umber which appear s on the product. 5. Select ing Install ation Locatio n The 5853 can be mou nted on t he ceiling or the w all. Choose a mou nting lo cation that is at least 2. 1m (7 feet) from floor and no m ore than 7.6m (25 feet) from the farthe st protec ted gla ss. B e sure the detect or has an unobstruc ted lin e-of-sight t o the prote cted gl ass. Before mountin g the det ector permanently, test it to ensure th at it fun ctions sat isfa ctorily in the chosen mounting lo cation. Verify t hat the de tector can detect glassbr eak sound s, follow ing t he dir ection s in the “ Testing t he Detect or ” sect ion. Ensur e that th e 5853 i s within rang e of the r eceiv er, follow ing the instructio ns for the signa l-strengt h test fo und in the co ntrol pan el ’ s install ation instr ucti ons. (To s end the sign al requir ed by the test, activat e the de tector' s front tamper switch.) If the detector fails, r elocat e it and re peat bot h tests. 6. Mounting the Detector NOTE: If using wa ll tamper a nd insta lling o n dry wal l (sheet rock), positi on the d etector so that t he wall tamper is o ver a wall stud or c eiling j oist, or use a drywall an chor so the tamper screw wil l not pu ll out. Be sure the detector has an unobstructed line-of-sight to the protected glass. Before mounting the detector permanently, test it to ensure that it functions satisfactorily in the chosen mounting location. Ensure that the 5853 is within range of the receiver, following the instructions for the signal-strength test found in the control panel's installation instructions. If the detector fails, relocate it and repeat both tests.

Seems to contain all the relavent info so far.Everything very well explained and very clearly. It does take sometime to go through the contents and organize the info. It brings labels that you place in every session for easy finding as you review the materials.It also does not provide information on IO insertion. Further, it does not include the doses of some of the important medications such as morphine even though it spends a lot of pages repeating other information. It did not indicate that another 6.5 hours of online training is needed.I would definitely recommend this book.If you want to use for one time its a good one.Also if you lost or someone stole it you’re not loosing that much. I have a friend who borrowed my original one and move to a different facility did not bother to bring my book back.The print quality if 6\10 obviously a knockoff, that can be forgiven, however the fact that it is incomplete makes it useless. For the following controls, the 5839 is compatible only with the revisions indicated: Control PanelThe 5839 cannot be used to program a control panel (an alpha keypad hard-wired to the control is required). The mounting plate secures the keypad to the wall and holds the battery in place. It is necessary to keep the mounting plate attached to the keypad at all times. Avoid mounting locations on or near large metal objects, since these can decrease the transmission range or block transmissions. Up to two (2) can be used on each of two partitions. The 5839 is not recommended for use on more than two (2) partitions of a multi-partition system The keypad is compatible with most controls and performs the same user functions as a wired alpha keypad. Activate the 5839 by pressing any key on its keypad, (unless powered by an external power-pack referred to in the POWER CONNECTIONS paragraph). Install or replace the 9 Volt Ultralife Lithium battery (No. 465) in the battery compartment provided at the rear of the keypad. Reattach the keypad to its mounting plate by aligning the four mounting holes in the keypad case back with the four mounting clips on the mounting plate. Lower the keypad onto the clips.

The installation guys did very well at any minor mess they made and ensured everything was clean and put back in place. The office calls and emails I have made were all answered in very polite and professional ways. The explanation of the system given was in a manner I could understand. All questions at the time were answered. I was recommended to contact the office if any questions came up in the future. The security of this camera system accompanied with my security alarm system is now a great comfort in keeping my family safe. Josh or any employee did not attempt to up-sell me and addressed ideas on my camera numbers and location. When the COVID restrictions relaxed, our system was installed. The installation was very smooth, the cameras were very well placed and the inside monitor and DVR were also well placed to not be outstanding in case of a break-in.
The guys that did the installation were very knowledgeable and even cleaned up where they did any drilling.I like this system because all equipment is mine and will stay with the house if it's sold. They installed and have maintained a burglar alarm at our residence and farm buildings. In mid-August, 2019, we had inside, electronic damage due to a lightning strike. When repair difficulties arose, Security Alarm sent their most-experienced alarm technician at no charge to figure out what was still wrong. After a very long Friday, Jim found the problem, made the repair, programmed the main panel, and tested every component of the alarm system. Now, everything is working correctly. I really appreciated Security Alarm's fair handling of the repair and their honesty exemplified through not charging me for unproductive time when, for whatever reason, they were not able to correctly diagnose the problem (the problem was ultimately a defective new, out-of-the-box part that they replaced). We had heard nothing but good things about Security Alarm. They worked to build the kind of system I wanted in our home. They are professional and customer care is their long suit. From Larry who sold the alarm to Daniel and Aaron Dice who worked with me, we have a trouble fee unit. What impresses me the most is that we did have issues and Security Alarm stepped up without me asking, and redesigned and upgraded our system to a much different higher quality system that would work flawlessly for our needs. All of this was at their expense. This is something you just don't find anymore. They are proactive and in our particular case, there was a better solution and they handled it with smiles.
